Gandhi Nagar: An FIR was registered against IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan for allegedly misinterpreting the government order at the Rajkot police station in Gujarat on Monday.
The 33-year-old IAS officer, Kannan Gopinathan resigned from the post of secretary, power department of the Union Territories of Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli on August 21, citing curbs in Jammu and Kashmir as the reason.
The government had asked the 33-year-old bureaucrat to join duty on the ground that his resignation has not been accepted yet.
Gopinathan had called the government’s act as “harassment” and refused to join duty.
The letter, sent to Gopinathan by the government on the direction of the Administration of Daman, Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli, said a resignation becomes effective when it is accepted and a government servant is relieved of his duty.
