Patna: In a shocking incident, a private school in Bihar’s Begusarai district allegedly stripped two sisters of their uniform owing to their father’s inability to pay the fees and were forced to walk down home in a semi-naked condition on Friday.

The police have arrested three persons, including the school principal in this connection.

As per reports, when the girls’ father, Chunchun Sah had visited school to pick them, he was asked to meet the teacher. The teacher wanted him to pay the cost of the uniform immediately. But hailing from a poor family, Sah requested for some time. However, the teacher did not heed to his plea and stripped the girls of the uniform and threw them out of the school in semi-naked state.

Sah’s daughters were thus forced to walk home in a semi-naked state till one of the villager gave some clothes to cover themselves. One of them was a nursery student; the elder one was in Class I.

Several cases of harassment of students by school authorities have cropped up recently with few even resorting to suicide. In January this year, a 16-year-old boy in Hyderabad hanged himself after being harassed at school for being late in paying the fee.
