New Delhi: With two of his accounts with the local branch of Bank of Baroda being frozen by the Mumbai office of the nationalised bank, Manmohan Singh, a local farmer from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh is in deep trouble.

His mistake is that he is one of the guarantors for the romping loan taken by King of Good Times-Vijay Mallya!
Even as Mallya is facing huge loan defaults and investigation by Enforcement Directorate for a money laundering case and Singh is said to be one the guarantors, the latter has claimed innocence stating that he does not know anything about Mallya.
“I do not understand how this happened. I do not know anything about Mallya and have never visited Mumbai in my life. Because the bank froze my accounts, I can’t avail any government-sponsored scheme. I was forced to sell my entire wheat crop to private traders at very low prices. I could not get MSP because payment for that is directly made to the bank account, which in my case is frozen,” Singh is quoted in Times of India.
It is said that even other banks in the area are not ready to open another account for him.
