New Delhi: A elderly woman was allegedly stripped and harrassed by a group of men and women after her son eloped with a girl here in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Five people including four women, blackened the woman’s face and threw chilli powder in her private parts.

According to reports, she was tortured as a punishment after her son eloped with a girl from the same village.

However, the woman’s husband immediately informed the local police and rescued her. The victim is said to be in a critical condition.

Police are yet to arrest the attackers.
