Watch: Devotees Offer Prayers at Chhattarpur Temple on Seventh Day of Navratri

On Monday, the morning aarti took place at the Shri Aadya Katyayani Shakti Peeth temple located in Chhattarpur, Delhi, marking the seventh day of Navratri. Devotees congregated at the Chhatarpur Temple to offer their prayers and seek the blessings of Goddess Durga.

Navratri holds immense significance in Hindu culture, celebrated with grandeur over several days. The seventh day of Navratri specifically venerates ‘Maa Kaalratri,’ the fierce manifestation of Goddess Durga renowned for vanquishing demons, evil spirits, and negativity, thereby illuminating the path for her devotees.

Observances for this day align with the Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwina.

This year’s Navratri festivities span from April 9 to April 17, during which people honor Maa Durga and her nine incarnations, collectively known as the Navadurgas.

Rama Navratri culminates with Rama Navami, celebrating Lord Ram’s birth. During Chaitra Navratri, observers fast and engage in worship of Goddess Durga. Ghatasthapana, the invocation of goddess Shakti, is a significant ritual observed during this period. Navratri also pays homage to tranquility and serenity through Maha Gauri Mata’s embodiment.
