Dentist hacked to death by gang in case of road rage

New Delhi: A 40-year-old dentist was bludgeoned allegedly with sticks and iron rods in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri area in a case of road rage around midnight on Thursday.

The deceased is Pankaj Narang, who was standing outside his house in Vikaspuri when two men on motorcycle brushed past him. In an ensuing altercation, the two men fled leaving behind the motorcycle at the spot.
After sometime, two men, one of whom is a juvenile returned with 13 other men armed with hockey sticks and iron rods. They then allegedly assaulted Narang. The mob also thrashed people who came to the dentist’s rescue.
Locals called the police and rushed Narang to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

A case under charges of murder, attempt to murder, trespassing and rioting has been registered in this connection and eight people, including the two men on the motorcycle, have been arrested.
The police is still looking for the other accused. Narang is survived by his wife and an eight-year-old son.
