A week and a half after the disturbing bomb threats that targeted about 100 schools in Delhi, identical emails were sent on Monday to a number of schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Teachers and parents alike became alarmed as a result of these contacts.

Law enforcement officials quickly responded to the incident by sending teams to the impacted schools and starting an ongoing investigation. Interestingly, it has been claimed that the threatening emails originated from the Russian domain “mail.ru,” which was also used to convey the bomb threats to the schools in Delhi.

Anand Niketan and DPS were two among the schools in Ahmedabad that were attacked. As of right now, there are no signs of questionable activity or explosives on the grounds of these institutions.

The latest round of bomb threats, which sent panic through many Delhi schools, was said to have come from a server located in Russia. Last Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena announced that Delhi Police had tracked down the original email addresses that had been used to threaten around 100 schools.A same IP address sent the threat emails to every school, according to sources who spoke with news agency ANI. Actually, the same email was sent to every school, and screenshots of it have been circulating on social media.

Meanwhile, a police officer said that the email address “[email protected]” was used to send the menacing emails to the Delhi-NCR schools.’Swarim’ is an Arabic word that the Islamic State (IS) frequently uses in their propaganda videos. The officer went on to say that there were Quranic verses in the email.

In the meantime, the Delhi Police are planning to request a Letter Rogatory (LR) from Russia in order to obtain information regarding the email address that is linked to bomb threats sent to Delhi-NCR schools. They will do this by approaching the Union Home Ministry and then the court. They have already contacted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to request assistance from Interpol. A legal request is an LR, and replies to these kinds of correspondence are usually given right away.

After the Indian School in Sadiq Nagar received a bomb threat on April 12 of last year, Delhi Police dispatched an LR to Russia. The Times of India (ToI) was informed by sources that the LR was shipped on May 12. Russia quickly replied, stating that a virtual private network was utilized and that the sender’s IP address was 188.172.220.76, which is located in Austria.

The police have begun examining the school bomb hoaxes from the previous year in an effort to find technological hints that could help with their ongoing investigation. The special probe team went over two cases that were resolved using Gmail IDs, and Google provided information about internet protocol to help with the settlement.
