Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised Members of Parliament on Friday during the ongoing Budget session by making an impromptu stop at the Parliament canteen.

Accompanied by eight lawmakers representing different parties, they indulged in a hearty meal featuring rice, khichdi, paneer, daal, til, and ragi sweets. Described as a ‘casual cordial meeting’ by NDA politicians, the gathering touched upon various topics, including the Prime Minister’s daily routine, exercise regimen, foreign trips, and even his visit to Karachi.

Union Minister and MP L Murugan shared insights from the interaction, highlighting PM Modi’s disciplined lifestyle, revealing that he sleeps for only 3.5 hours and abstains from eating after 6 pm.

With the Winter Session of Parliament concluding on Saturday, this gathering marked a unique moment for MPs as it was the last session before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, expected to be held in April-May.

Reflecting on the experience, PM Modi later tweeted about enjoying the lunch in the company of parliamentary colleagues from diverse backgrounds across India, accompanied by photos of the gathering.

Additionally, Murugan mentioned that the Prime Minister graciously covered the bill, further adding to the camaraderie of the occasion.
