New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has firmly stated that individuals like Prajwal Revanna should face zero tolerance, accusing the Congress government in Karnataka of permitting the JD(S) MP to leave the country and disseminating compromising videos post-elections in the Vokkaliga-dominated regions.
In an interview with Times Now, Modi emphasized that addressing the unfolding situation falls under the purview of the State government, labeling it as a law and order concern, as per the interview transcript provided by the broadcaster.
He remarked that the extensive collection of videos suggests their origin during the JD(S)-Congress alliance tenure. These videos surfaced during the elections following the Vokkaliga community’s voting, he added.
Highlighting the suspicious timing of releasing the videos after Revanna’s departure from the country, the Prime Minister urged for thorough scrutiny. He criticized the lack of action by the state government, highlighting the need for heightened vigilance, especially at the airport.
Expressing an adamant stance against such incidents, Modi stressed the importance of stringent punishment through legal means, advocating for Revanna’s return and decisive actions, without any reservations.
