New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi took a swipe at Congress Rajya Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge over his ‘400 paar’ remark and referenced Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee’s recent prediction that Congress might not surpass 40 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. “I hope you retain those 40 seats,” PM Modi quipped. Mocking Kharge’s ‘400 paar’ statement, PM Modi remarked, “As I listened to his speech, I pondered how he found the audacity to speak so confidently. Then I realized that two key figures were absent. Kharge ji seized the moment thinking, ‘When else will such an opportunity arise?’ and hit boundaries,” PM Modi remarked.
PM Modi criticized Congress sharply, highlighting its lack of consistent leadership and principles. He pointed out the party’s indecision between nationalization and privatization during its governance and its tendency to confer Bharat Ratna upon family members while naming roads after them. Expressing distress over the decline of the Congress, PM Modi underscored his disappointment with the party’s degeneration.
