Noida’s Sector-137 metro station on the Aqua Line is poised to introduce the state’s inaugural metro coach restaurant on Tuesday. This innovative dining establishment, designed to resemble a metro coach, offers seating for up to 50 guests and will cater to a variety of events, including birthdays and business meetings, with an hourly rental fee.
Opening Event and Features
The restaurant’s grand opening is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Tuesday and will be graced by the Managing Director of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) and the CEO of Noida Authority. The concept behind the Metro Coach restaurant is to provide passengers with a distinctive dining experience within the confines of a stationary metro train coach, mirroring the Aqua Line’s existing party services.
Cuisine and Operation Details
Reportedly, the restaurant will offer a diverse menu encompassing several cuisines, along with cocktails, aiming to provide budget-friendly options and catering to a child-friendly atmosphere. Following the opening ceremony, the restaurant will be operational from 11:30 am until midnight.
Management and Revenue Boost
The NMRC has granted a nine-year contract to City Super Market Company for the management and operation of the restaurant within the metro premises. The company will oversee operations with waitstaff dressed in metro worker attire, ensuring a unique and immersive experience. The agreement, subject to biennial renewal, is expected to enhance NMRC’s revenue stream.
Infrastructure and Additional Amenities
The restaurant will occupy a 100 square meter metro coach, supplemented by a 200 square meter outdoor area for further development. The outdoor space will offer additional seating, complementing the interior arrangement of the coach. Inside, seating will be arranged on both sides with dining tables in the centre, and a bar license has been secured. Announcements within the coach will highlight the culinary offerings.
Revenue Impact and NMRC’s Strategy
This initiative aligns with NMRC’s track record of establishing commercial ventures within metro stations to bolster revenue. The addition of the metro coach restaurant is expected to further augment NMRC’s financial performance.
