Police in the Bharat Nagar neighborhood of northwest Delhi said that a 21-year-old man was fatally beaten on Saturday after he attempted to break up a brawl between his brother and other players during a cricket match.
According to police, Vishal Kumar passed away from internal injuries. They also stated that a murder case has been filed and that teams have been assembled to find the culprit.
Kumar leaves behind a wife and a one-year-old son who reside in the Pratap Nagar area, according to a police officer. Both his sister and younger brother are in school. According to the officer, Kumar had previously worked in a Sadar Bazar cosmetics factory.
His younger brother Kunal had gone to play cricket near their house, police said, adding that subsequently, there was a scuffle between Kunal and others. Kunal called his brother to the ground. When he reached the ground, Kumar was allegedly beaten up by the accused with cricket bats.
Kumar was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police said a case of murder has been registered and three of the accused have been identified.
