New Delhi: A Delhi resident, Khushboo Gupta, who works as a dietician, took to social media to express her dismay about her unpleasant experience on an IndiGo flight, criticizing the airline for alleged lapses in food quality and service standards.
Gupta shared a disturbing video on Instagram, revealing a live worm she discovered in the vegetable sandwich she purchased during her IndiGo flight from Delhi to Mumbai on December 29. Expressing her dissatisfaction, Gupta questioned the airline’s commitment to passenger safety and well-being.
Despite being aware of the poor quality of the sandwiches, Gupta claimed that the flight attendant continued serving them to other passengers, including children and the elderly, raising concerns about potential infections.
When Gupta reported the discovery of the worm to the IndiGo flight attendant, she alleged that the response was inadequate. According to Gupta, the attendant simply stated, “We will replace it with something else,” without addressing the broader issue of food safety on board. The attendant assured Gupta that the matter would be reported to the relevant department.
In response, IndiGo issued a statement acknowledging the customer’s concern and emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of food and beverage service. The airline stated that upon investigation, the crew immediately ceased serving the specific sandwich in question. The matter is under thorough examination, and IndiGo is working closely with its caterer to implement appropriate corrective measures. The airline sincerely apologized for any inconvenience caused to the passenger.
