French President Macron, EAM Jaishankar visit Delhi’s Nizamuddin Dargah

Delhi : French President Emmanuel Macron visited to the Dargah Nizamuddin Aulia on Friday evening, according to officials.

Macron was the chief guest at Delhi’s Kartavya Path for the 75th Republic Day celebrations, arrived at the nearly 700-year-old shrine, a significant hub of Sufi culture in India, at 9:45 pm and spent over thirty minutes there, officials stated.

The dargah, serving as the mausoleum of the renowned Sufi Nizamuddin Auliya and his disciple Amir Khusrau, holds immense historical and cultural significance.

Prior to his visit to the shrine, President Macron was warmly welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where a banquet was hosted in his honor.

Expressing her delight at Macron’s presence, President Murmu highlighted the historic significance of the leaders of both nations being guests of honor at each other’s National Day celebrations, emphasizing the depth of friendship and strength of partnership between France and India.
