The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department (FDA) in Noida took action after receiving complaints from consumers who fell ill allegedly after consuming food from McDonald’s in Sector 18 and Theobroma bakery in Sector 104.

Complaints and Actions Taken

According to officials, a consumer reported falling sick after consuming a burger and french fries from the McDonald’s outlet in Sector 18. In response, the FDA team collected samples of palm oil, cheese, and mayonnaise from the outlet.

Similarly, another complaint was lodged against Theobroma bakery, where a consumer fell ill after consuming a stale cake. The FDA team collected a sample of the pineapple cake from the bakery for laboratory testing.

Expected Outcome

Assistant Commissioner (Food) Archana Dheeran stated that the laboratory report is anticipated within a month. If the samples fail the test, further action, including registering a case, will be taken against the respective outlets.

This proactive response by the FDA underscores the importance of ensuring food safety and addressing consumer complaints promptly to maintain public health standards in Noida.
