New Delhi: The Congress party will release its much-anticipated manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections today. The manifesto is expected to focus on “Paanch Nyay.” AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other top leaders are expected to release the manifesto.
Congress is expected to stress “Panch Nyay,” including ‘Naari Nyay,’ ‘Kisaan Nyay,’ ‘Yuva Nyay,’ ‘Shramik Nyay,’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ as well as the guarantees made by it to the people as part of its election promises for the Lok Sabha polls.
AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge took to Twitter to announce the release of the manifesto, stating, “The Congress party shall be unveiling its Manifesto today. Our 5 NYAY — 25 GUARANTEE agenda represents our non-negotiable commitment to the welfare of the Nation. Since 1926 till date, the Congress Manifesto is a solemn document of the inseparable trust between us and the People of India.”
The party is expected to propose strict laws and punishments against those responsible for paper leaks in the country and suggest measures to bring transparency in government recruitment, as announced by Rahul Gandhi during an election rally.
Congress is likely to promise the youth the ‘right to employment’ as part of its poll manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
It is also likely to announce a caste-based census in the country and a legal guarantee for a minimum support price.
The party, through its manifesto, is likely to give thrust on welfare measures like providing financial assistance to marginalized sections of society. The Congress party may announce the scrapping of the new pension scheme.
