New Delhi: The President of India, Draupadi Murmu, presented Bharat Ratna at an investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.
BJP veteran, former deputy prime minister Lal Krishna Advani, gave a miss to the event and did not turn to receive the award. Sources said Advani’s health was not good, and it is said that President Murmu will visit Advani’s residence tomorrow and present the award.
She conferred Bharat Ratna upon: P. V. Narasimha Rao posthumously. On behalf of the late P. V. Narasimha Rao, Bharat Ratna was received by his son, P. V. Prabhakar Rao.

Former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh posthumously. On behalf of the late Chaudhary Charan Singh, Bharat Ratna was received by his grandson, RLD Party chief Jayant Chaudhary.
Dr. M.S. Swaminathan posthumously. On behalf of the late Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Bharat Ratna was received by his daughter, Dr. Nitya Rao.
Karpoori Thakur posthumously. On behalf of the late Karpoori Thakur, Bharat Ratna was received by his son, Ramnath Thakur.
