New Delhi: In the latest occurrence this month, a distressing incident unfolded in Delhi on Tuesday as a two-year-old child fell victim to a dog attack in Vishwas Nagar, northeast Delhi. The incident was captured by CCTV cameras, revealing a German Shepherd, one of the pet dogs involved, aggressively charging at a woman and gripping the child’s leg with its jaws.

The footage depicts the woman struggling on the ground while attempting to free the toddler from the dog’s grasp. Subsequently, additional dogs in the vicinity joined in the attack, prompting intervention from bystanders who rushed to rescue both the woman and the child.

This incident follows two similar cases earlier in January. On January 9, a seven-year-old girl reportedly suffered 15 injuries after being attacked by a neighbor’s American Bully dog in Rohini, Delhi. In another incident on January 2 in Burari, north Delhi, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl sustained three fractures and multiple stitches in an alleged dog attack while out for a walk with her grandfather. The alarming trend of dog attacks raises concerns about the safety of children in the city, prompting a need for increased awareness and preventive measures.
