New Delhi: Deepika Padukone stood by the protesting students of Jawaharlal Nehru University on Tuesday evening and the move of the actor has not gone down well with the BJP.
On Tuesday, at about 7.45 pm, Deepika came to the campus where the students were shouting slogans of ‘Azadi’. She remained there for about 10 minutes.
Soon after this, BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga said that her films must be boycotted as she came in support of the ‘Tukde Tukde Gang’ and Afzal Guru.
The actor was in Delhi to promote her upcoming film ‘Chhapaak’.
It may be recalled that masked goons had entered the University campus with rods and sledgehammers and went on a rampage, assaulting students and teachers.
Hindu Raksha Dal’s Pinky Chaudhary claimed responsibility for the JNU attack on Sunday night.
