Accused Keerthi Reddy
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a young woman killed her own mother by strangulation, just because she would not let her have ‘affairs’ with her ‘boyfriends.’
Keerthi Reddy (19), a resident of the Dwaraka Colony in Hayatnagar, is the accused who killed her 38-year-old mother Rajitha.
It has been reported that Keerthi had affairs with two boys, Bal Reddy and Shashi, at the same time.
According to police sources, she revealed that she was the one who killed her mother.
In her confession to the police, she said that Rajitha told her that it was not right to have any affairs, just as she was entering the house. Enraged by this, she got into a fight with her mother and called her neighbour Shashi. Together, they strangled her mother to death.
According to the reports, Keerthi spent two ‘initimate’ nights with Shashi while her mother’s body remained in the house. As the body began to emit a foul odour due to decomposition, they decided to do away with the body and disposed of it on a railway track in Thummalaguda, to make it appear as though she died in an accident.
Keerthi gave the horrifying details after she was caught in a lie by the police. She tried to pin the death on her father, a lorry driver named Srinivas Reddy, by telling the police that he used to ‘harass’ Rajitha. She stated that her mother left the house and went missing because of this.
Sources say that when Srinivas returned home on October 24, he found that the house door was locked. When he called his daughter, she informed him that she was on a tour in Vizag. Upon hearing this, he told her return to Hyderabad immediately, as Rajitha’s phone was switched off and there was no response from her.
After returning home, she filed a missing complaint for her mother and stated that she went missing due to a quarrel and physical abuse from her husband.
According to the Rachkonda Police, Keerthi had begun giving inconsistent answers, which made Srinivas doubt her statements. At that point in time, Bal Reddy’s father, who resides near their house in Hayatnagar, came to their residence and said that Keerthi had stayed at their home on her insistence. At this juncture, Srinivas was sure that his daughter was lying and brought it to the notice of the Hayatnagar Police.
It has also been revealed that Keerthi had spoken to Bal Reddy’s father by posing as her mother, Rajitha, requesting him to allow her to stay at their home for the night as Srinivas and Rajitha had gone to a hospital.
Bal Reddy’s father allowed her to stay at their home upon hearing this. This means that she was in Bal Reddy’s house when she told her father, over the phone, that she was touring Vizag.
The police confirmed this by tracking her phone’s location to Hayatnagar and not Vizag.
When the Hayatnagar Police received information that Rajitha’s body was found at a railway track, they contacted the railway police. They told the former that they had found the dismembered body of a woman, which they had buried, and had filed a case.
Meanwhile, the police have taken Bal Reddy, Shashi and Keerthi into custody.
