New Delhi: As many as 15 people have been charge-sheeted in the Dadri lynching case, by the Uttar Pradesh police, including a minor. However, what is surprising is that the charge-sheet has no mention of ‘beef’ in it.

52-year-old Akhlaq was killed over rumours that he had stored beef in his house but police said a forensic report on the type of meat was yet to be received.
Akhlaq’s daughter, Shaishta, has been made the prime witness in the case and it is said that an additional chargesheet will be filed against few more persons whose names figured in the statement of Ikhlaq’s daughter, Shaishta, recorded before the court.
The charge-sheet comes in even when the kin of the victim of Dadri lynching had told Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav that they did not want any further probe and that they were happy with the steps initiated in the case. The family had received a compensation of Rs 45 lakh so far.
Mohommed Akhlaq was killed by a strong mob at Bisada in UP allegedly for consuming beef. The incident had triggered political hear in the country. His 22-year-old son was critically injured in the incident.
Cow slaughter is banned in Uttar Pradesh.
