Patna: AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s poster depicting him as Lord Rama was vandalised by unidentified miscreants in Patna, the capital of Bihar, reports ANI.

The posters showing Rahul Gandhi as the living embodiment of Lord Rama were put up at various places in Patna a few days ago. The poster also contained pictures of other Congress leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Priyanka Gandhi along with few state Congress leaders.

The text on the poster was pointing towards the ruling government. It read “Woh Ram naam japte rahen, tum banker Ram jiyo re” (Let them chant the name of Ram while you live and act as Lord Ram).

A complaint was filed in Patna Civil Court against Rahul Gandhi, Bihar Congress chief Madan Mohan Jha and four others alleging hurting religious sentiments by depicting Rahul Gandhi as Lord Ram.

The Congress was criticised by the ruling JDU and BJP in Bihar terming the act as a cheap political stunt.

On Sunday, February 3, Rahul is scheduled to address the ‘Jan Akanksha’ rally organised by the Bihar Congress party in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.
