
Hyderabad: Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore said, “If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars”, which is apt to the invention made by a 22-year-old Sai Teja, who has just passed class 10.
Teja who had lost interest in studies was attracted towards electrons and this love led him to make an alcohol detector. Expressing his passion towards the invention to a news agency, he said that he learnt coding on internet and was able to create his very own version of alcohol detector.
The speciality of this machine is that if it detects the driver who has consumed about 30 percent of alcohol, it will automatically restrict the engine from starting.
It is indeed a proud moment for the nation, where just a class 10 pass out has created such a machine, which so far in place in only a few high end vehicles. With Teja deciding to price his machine at Rs 2500, the Driver Alcohol Detection System may be come available to all.
