Mahasamund: Chattisgarh girl Shrijal Chandrakar will be accompanying Prime Minister Modi to view the landing of India’s unmanned lunar mission “Chandrayaan 2” on the Moon’s surface.

Shrijal Chandrakar is a class 9 student of Kendra Vidyalaya in Chattisgarh’s Mahasamund district. She is one out of 60 Indian students to have been shortlisted for the opportunity after qualifying in a space quiz conducted by ISRO.

Chandrakar will be watching the live landing of the vessel along with PM Modi at the ISRO centre in Bengaluru on September 7.

Speaking to ANI, she said, “It is a very big opportunity for me and I thank my parents and teachers for preparing me for this. I had never thought it would ever be possible for me to meet the Prime Minister.”

“I want to ask PM Modi how he multi-tasks so efficiently all the time and what other plans he has for the country,” she added.

The girl’s father, Yogesh Chandrakar said, “It is wonderful that Srijal will get an opportunity to meet the Prime Minister while being able to see the landing of Chandrayaan 2 live. We are feeling honoured and have received numerous congratulatory messages from family members and acquaintances.”
