Jabalpur: One gets a Tata Nano car as a gift, if he / she bring 500 persons to undergo family planning  surgeries.  If one reaches the goal of 50, a refrigerator will be delivered free of cost at your doorstep in this peak summer.  If one thinks its difficult and at least brings 25 persons, gold medal weighing 10 grams is guaranteed.

Its not a joke. Its the latest and innovative package offered by Madhya Pradesh (MP) state administration.  The people are competing to avail the package that is aimed at controlling the spiraling population.

The government  has now realized that mere population control programmes are not effective in realizing the goals.  The package will lure the people and help in the success of the population control drive.

In spite of the success of this innovative package, unhealthy competition has arisen among the middlemen who are aggressively pursuing their victims.  A few of middlemen are luring the unmarried and middle-aged persons with the greed of car, refrigerator and gold.  The death of 2 women in Indore and Vidisha regions, a few months ago, who passed away after the vasectomy surgeries, has raised health concerns

Burden on surgeons:

The surgeons are facing the pressure to perform 30 to 50 surgeries in a day. Over 500 such surgeries are being performed per day at Indore and Malwa regions.
