Chandigarh: The self-styled godman Asaram Bapu’s absconding son Narayan Sai has been arrested on charges of sexual assault by the Gujarat and Delhi Police on Wednesday December 4.

It is learnt that Narayan Sai was hiding near the Punjab border where he was with his close aides; he was arrested in a joint operation by the Gujarat, Punjab and Delhi Police.

According to initial reports, the arrest was made by a team of the Delhi and Gujarat Police early this morning although the exact location of his arrest is not yet known.

Sai, who had been on the run for the past 58 days, has been finally arrested and taken to Delhi for interrogation,

Earlier two sisters, who lived in Surat, have filed rape complaints against Asaram Bapu and Narayan Sai at different police stations in Gujarat. They alleged they were raped by the duo during their stay in the ashram in mid-2000s. Moreover a complaint was filed by a 30-year-old woman, who alleged that Narayan Sai raped her in 2001 to 2005.
