New Delhi: Bowing to pressure and under direction from Delhi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said he would request the High Court to order a CBI probe into the Vyapam case, including into the deaths of several people allegedly linked to the scam.
CMThe opposition Congress, however, said Mr Chouhan’s announcement was “another  attempt to muzzle the truth” and demanded a Supreme Court-monitored CBI probe.

Sources disclosed that the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister is scheduled to visit New Delhi on Wednesday for a pre-scheduled meeting in one of the Central ministries, but might have to postpone or cancel it if he does not get a nod from the party leadership to visit Delhi amidst the massive hue and cry over the Vyapam scam.

Mr Chouhan, who has been under attack from the opposition for the rising death toll, said people wanted the truth and it is imperative that the case be probed by the CBI to put all doubts to rest.
