Ahmedabad: A Bharatiya Janata Party worker captured an image of himself inside a polling booth during Jasdan Assembly by-poll, on Thursday, December 20, while the voting was underway.

The picture taken shows the man voting for BJP candidate Kunvarji Bavaliya. He has also posted the pic on a Whatsapp group, named ‘BJP Jasdan.’

Carrying electronic gadgets inside polling centres is not allowed, and taking pictures is also forbidden.

Responding to the incident, the election officials along with Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) S Murali Krishna have demanded that the Returning Officer (RO) should file a report. The election officials are to take action against erring officials concerned for negligence.

Jasdan Assembly by poll results will be announced on December 23.
