Patna: A BJP legislator was arrested on Sunday allegedly for eve teasing a minor girl in Bihar’s Vaishali district, police said.

The Government Railway Police have arrested Tunnaji Pandey, Bharatiya Janata Party MLC in Bihar on charges of eve teasing a minor girl, after the victim complaint against him, a police official said.

According to police officials, Pandey was arrested at Hajipur railway station. “As per complaint of the victim, Pandey tried to molest her and also misbehaved with her early Sunday in a running train,” police said. The victim and Pandey were travelling in Purvanchal express.

Pandey, a criminal turned politician, also known as liquor mafia in Siwan-Gopalganj districts in Bihar.

BJP suspends Tunnaji Pandey

The BJP on Sunday suspended its legislator Tunnaji Pandey after he was arrested for allegedly eve teasing a minor girl in a running train in Bihar’s Vaishali district.

A state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Mayukh told reporters here that Pandey has been suspended from the party soon after he was held for harassing a minor girl. “BJP has also issued a show-cause notice to Tunnaji Pandey in this connection,” he said.
