Kolkata: BJP’s youth wing leader in West Bengal has announced a cash prize of Rs 11 lakh to the one who beheads Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Yogesh Varshney, the member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha resorted to making this outrageous declaration following police action on a rally held on Sunday to mark Hanuman Jayanti in Birbhum, around 180 km from Kolkata.
Terming the Chief Minister as ‘demon’, the youth leader came down heavily on the police action of beating up people in a baton-charge.
“When I saw the video, I only had one thought… that if anyone gets me Mamata Banerjee’s head I will give them Rs 11 lakh.,” Varshney said adding that the CM was targeting the Hindus.
It is said that the police had refused permission for the Birbhum rally and allegedly used batons when the procession was about to enter a street locally called the Madrasa Road, as clashes had taken place in the recent past during Ram Navami and previous Hanuman Jayanti.
