Patna: Posters showing Rahul Gandhi and several Congress leaders of Bihar along with their castes have been put up at several places in Patna. Responding to this, the BJP has criticised Rahul Gandhi and his party for promoting “caste politics.”

The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee was revamped last week with new office bearers taking office. The posters that were put up were showing the revamped Congress but they stirred up a controversy for highlighting the castes of Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders.

When the Congress leaders were questioned about the poster, they remained silent.

BJP State Spokesperson Nikhil Anand has urged the Election Commission to take note of Congress’ attempt to play the caste card ahead of the Lok Sabha polls and has asked it to take appropriate actions.

He has spoken out about the posters and how they show Rahul Gandhi to be a man of the sacred thread who worships Lord Shiva and goes to Kailash Mansarovar for pilgrimage. He calls it an attempt by Congress to garner votes due to their sheer desperation.
