Bihar: The state government’s move of banning liquor came as a blessing in the life of Vijayanthi, 50, a resident of Mohuddiganj of Sasaram district. She lived away from her husband Jai Gobind Singh for 13 years, though never formally separated from him.
The couple were married about two decades ago. But when Vijayanthi could not put up with the abuse and beatings at the hands of her alcoholic husband, she vowed to never return to him and accordingly, in 2003, Vijayanti took her daughter, then just a year old and walked out of the house.

Jai Gobind, now 58, says that he had tried his level best to give up alcohol and woo his wife back, but it never happened.
He feels that the ban came as blessing in his life because it was only because of the ban he could count on his mistakes.
With the ban, Jai Gobind went up to Vijayanthi and apologised for his misdoings. She gave him a second chance.

With this, their daughter Guddi wants to arrange a re-marriage ceremony for her parents marking their reconciliation.
