Patna: A massive fire broke out in Siwan district, Bihar, caused by the bursting of firecrackers, resulting in approximately 100 people sustaining injuries, as confirmed by the police on Monday.
The fire initially ignited in a shop where diesel was stored, swiftly spreading to engulf the entire Sheela Market. Traders, caught in the sudden blaze, fled their shops in panic, leading to injuries.
Over two dozen individuals are reported to be in critical condition, necessitating their referral to Sadar Hospital and Gorakhpur for treatment. Additionally, two firefighters were among those injured in the tragic incident.
The fire erupted around 10 p.m. on Sunday night, prompting an immediate response from firefighting teams to control the flames. Feroz Alam, SDPO Siwan, shared details of the unfortunate mishap, emphasizing the urgency of medical attention for the injured individuals. Investigations into the incident are underway to ascertain the full extent of the damage and identify preventive measures for the future.
