Lucknow: After the Bhim Army supporters were roughed up by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supporters during BSP’s Meerut rally on Monday, April 8, it looks like the incident has favoured Congress’ candidate from Saharanpur Lok Sabha constituency, Imran Masood.

Reportedly, Imran Masood has claimed the support of the Bhim Army and also had a meeting with the party district chief Kamal Walia. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.

The BSP held a rally in Meerut on Monday, where a delegation of the Bhim Army was also present. Several Bhim Army supporters had reached the rally venue with the posters of Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan and were beaten up by BSP supporters and the police. Looks like the incident has led the Bhim Army to change its allegiances.

Recently, Masood took a dig at the BSP Supremo Mayawati stating that for the first time she was scared of a Dalit leader. He was referring to Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar.

Mayawati had on March 31, had targeted Bhim Army in a series of tweets terming the party men the agents of BJP. The former UP chief minister also slammed the Bhim Army chief alleging that the BJP was behind his organisation with a strategy of dividing Dalit votes ahead of the upcoming polls.

Mayawati had tweeted, “The BJP tried very hard to help Bhim Army chief Chandrasekhar join the BSP as its mole but failed in its conspiracy. It is very imperative in the national interest to dislodge autocratic, despotic anti-Dalit, OBC & minorities BJP from power. Pls ensure no vote goes waste. My appeal.”
