New Delhi: All airports in the country will be equipped with body scanners in the next two years, a senior official said on Thursday, August 29.

Accordingly, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has made it compulsory to equip all airports with body scanners.

The development assumes significance as the current equipment at airports cannot detect non-metallic explosives.
