Kochi: Air India Express flight operations were disrupted from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning due to a large number of senior crew members taking a sick leave, according to sources.
According to a news report, over 70 international and domestic flights operated by Air India Express were canceled from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
This led to protests from hundreds of passengers at Cochin International Airport, demanding prompt solutions such as fresh tickets or immediate refunds to minimize travel disruptions. Passengers are worried about potential job losses amidst the unexplained cancellations, as the airline has not issued an official statement.
Airport sources suggest that the sudden sick leave by airline workers sparked the situation.
