Jammu: Police on Tuesday rescued 13 persons trapped in a snow-bound mountain pass in the hilly Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A senior police officer said that the 13 trapped inside two vehicles because of snowfall in the Sinthan Pass that connects the Kishtwar with the Kashmir Valley were rescued after a five-hour long rescue operation.

“All the rescued persons – nine men, a woman, an infant and two drivers of the vehicles – have been shifted to safety and are hale and hearty,” the officer said.
