Mumbai: As a reaction to the sensationalized news about her accident, actor-turned-politician Hema Malini turned to twitter and accused the father of the deceased 4 year old girl for not following traffic rules saying that accident could have been averted if he had followed traffic rules.
The accident that took place in Dausa, Rajasthan when Hema Malini’s speeding Mercedes collided head-on with an Alto carrying six people on July 2, resulted in Hema Malini fracturing her nose and suffering from minor injuries and the death of a four-year -old girl.
Following the accident, Hema Malini’s driver was arrested on charges of causing death by negligence and rash driving. He was later released. The family of the deceased alleged that she could have been saved had she been taken to the hospital along with the BJP MP. The following week, there were several reports blaming the celebrity for the death of the child.
Speaking about the death of the little girl, she posted:
“How I wish the girl’s father had followed the traffic rules – then this accident could have been averted & the lil one’s life safe!” said Hema on Twitter. She also tweeted that her “heart goes out to the child who unnecessarily lost her life”.
The actress further vented out her anger on media for sensationalizing the accident posting, “As for the sensation-hungry media & a few members of the public who had a field day maligning me even when I was helpless &in deep trauma, who actually & unbelievably stooped to the lowest levels of human decency, I can only say “Shame on u” &”God Bless”!
