The International Customs Day is being celebrated on January 26 every year to commemorate the official inauguration session of the Council that was held in Brussels on January 26, 1953. The WCO is dedicating 2016 to promoting the digitalization of Customs process under the slogan “Digital Customs: Progressive Engagement”.

It has become a well-established tradition for us to celebrate the International Customs Day. However, as January 26 is our Republic day, International Customs Day shall be celebrated on Wednesday, the January 27.
The Mangalore Customs Commissionerate will be celebrating the International Customs Day at 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, at the Custom House premises in Panambur. The members of the trade, office bearers of Custom Brokers Association/Steamer Agents Association, senior level officers of other departments associated with Customs and other stakeholders will be joining the celebrations.
