Mangaluru: On the auspicious morning of 26 Jan 2024, Lourdes Central School celebrated 75th Republic Day in the school premises with great éclat.
The programme commenced at 8 a.m creating a prayerful atmosphere with a hymn and intentions.
Rev Father Principal, Robert Dsouza, the Chief Guest Ashok Pinto, the Vice President of the Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad, Rev Father Arul, Vice Principals, Belita Mascarenhas, and Anita Thomas comprised the dignitaries on the dais. Amil Barboza warmly welcomed the attendees.
The Chief Guest escorted by the Deputy Sports Minister, Shubhan Das, and accompanied by the dignitaries, hoisted the national flag with great pride and honour. Mithra of Class 9 highlighted the significance of the day, emphasizing the values and responsibilities of citizens. Class 8 students presented a melodious medley of patriotic songs.
Rev Father Principal, Robert Dsouza, addressed the gathering, reflecting on unity in diversity and the duties of citizens in this great country. He advised the students to be committed, positive, and dedicated leaders of our nation.
Rev Father Principal urged them to work towards a more inclusive and equitable society, where the principles of our constitution are not just words on paper but a reality lived every day. He expressed appreciation for the large turnout. The program concluded with Erina Mariam of class 6, and Premal Dsouza of class 7 served as the compere. Shamitha Machado organized the program.
