“India@75: Videsh Niti Lecture Series” held at NITK Surathkal.

Surathkal: The School of Humanities, Social Science and Management, NIT Karnataka, Surathkal, organised a guest lecture on Jan 27 2023 on the topic “The Importance of Economic Diplomacy with a focus on India-Japan relations”. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, former Indian Ambassador to Japan, was the invited guest speaker for the event. The speaker enlightened the students about the functionalities of the Ministry of External Affairs, GOI, predominantly pertaining to India-Japan relations and shared the experiences and insights she gained as a former ambassador to Japan.The lecture is being organised as part of the “India@75: Videsh Niti Distinguished Lecture Series” initiative, under the Ministry of External Affairs Govt. of India.

The purpose of the lectures is to “demystify India’s foreign policy” in order to help young minds understand how the Ministry of External Affairs of India functions and how foreign policy works.

Director In-Charge and Dean of Planning and Development, Prof. K.S.Babu Narayan, Dr Sheena HOD of the School Of Humanities, Social Science and Management, Dr Rashmi Uchil, Co-ordinator of lecture series with over 150 students from the Institute’s B-Tech, MBA, and PhD programmes attended the event.
