Belthangady: Independence day celebrations were held at Holy Redeemer English Medium School. Convenor of the School, V. Rev Joseph Alphonse Cardoza performed the flag hoisting and addressed the gathering.

Headmaster V. Rev Clifford Simon Pinto said we should live together and celebrate our nation’s culture, which believes in Unity in Diversity. Pauline Rego, secretary of the governing body, and school staff were present.

Teachers sang patriotic songs on this occasion. Assistant teacher Mary Souza welcomed the gathering. Kavita gave the vote of thanks and Blendin Rodrigues compered the programme.
