Bengaluru: Blood donation is a noble act. But today there are many cases of a large number of patients losing lives due to lack of blood supply. In India, there is a need of about 1.2 crore units of blood every year but only 1.1 crore is available. According to a government ministry report, there is a shortage of 11.5 lakh units of blood. Even more troubles were faced in blood collection ever since the covid has emerged.

Popular Front of India that has seriously considered the issue of shortage of blood, has given much importance to emphasis on the blood donation. Over the past two decades, the organization has been making a sincere effort to save people’s lives by donating blood in emergencies without discriminating between caste, creed through blood donation camps and personal blood donation.

Now, Popular Front has launched a nationwide forum called the Popular Front Blood Donors Forum, with a broad concept of expanding humanitarian service, reducing blood loss, educating people and inspiring them to donate blood. Similarly, a Popular Front Blood Donors Forum platform has been established in Karnataka too.

A state-wide Blood Donors Forum membership campaign is being held from July 15 to August 15 with the official opening of the Popular Front Blood Donors Forum. As part of the campaign, 75 blood donation camps have been organized in various parts of the state on the eve of the 75th Independence Day, with an aim of collecting 10 thousand units of blood.

People by large must participate in this camp and make it a great success. We are hereby requesting people to join hands with us in overcoming the shortage of blood in times of need or emergency, and in humanitarian service of saving people’s lives.
