Mangaluru: Oral hygiene day is celebrated all across India on August 1. As part of the oral hygiene day, the Department of Periodontology, Yenepoya Dental College took the opportunity to spread awareness and the importance of oral health in the community. It conducted a health awareness and screening program at Jamatul Falah Green View at PU College Adkarpadpu, Konaje along with the distribution of oral hygiene kits on July 31 2023.

Around 75 students were examined and referred to the Dental College for further treatment. On 1 August 2023, patient education and oral health awareness talk were conducted for all the patients reporting to the department and the oral hygiene kits were distributed to all the patients.

A patient education video prepared by the post-graduates was also released on the occasion.

Dr Laxmikanth Chatra (Principal), Dr Hasan Sarfaraz (Vice-principal), Dr Rajesh K S (Professor and Head, Department of Periodontology). and other staff members of the Department of Periodontology were present.
