Moodabidri: A one-day workshop on modern welding technology was held at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET), Mijar, in association with Kumamoto Univerity, Japan on March 22.

Chief guest Dr. Kazuyuki Hokamoto of Kumamoto University said that academic work should not merely remain on paper. It should be transformed into practical skills and knowledge, he added.

Dr. K Raghukandan, Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at Annamalai University, was the guest of honour.

Principal of AIET Dr. Peter Fernandes explained the importance of the workshop.

Division Chief Dr. Harishanand welcomed the gathering.

Convener of the programme Dr. Satyanarayana proposed a vote of thanks.
