University College Mangalore organises Food Fest 2019

Mangaluru: The Department of Tourism and Travel Management of the University College Mangalore had organised ‘Food Fest 2019’ on Tuesday, March 26 at the Commerce Block of the college.

Delicious food including tamarind fruit pods, luscious fruits like mangoes, varieties of rice puddings, chicken biryani and different types of sukkas (Manglorean local delicacy) were all available at the Food Fest.

Four Professors and 22 students of the Tourism Department with the help of a few other volunteers from the college had arranged for more than 50 delicious dishes for the Fest.

A Ashwathama Hegde, Tulunadu Food Caterers, inaugurated the event and encouraged the students to organise more such events in the future.

Dr. Uday Kumar M A, Principal, University College Mangalore, addressing the gathering exclaimed that the diverse varieties of food from different cultures and traditions were very astonishing.

Dr. Meenakshi, HoD of the Tourism Department, professors and student secretaries were present during the event.

Prof. Sri Raj, Tourism Department, welcomed the gathering.
