Puttur: The Economics Fest ‘ECOZENITH 2019’ which was organized by Post Graduate Department of Economics of St Philomena College, Puttur, in association with Mangalore University Economics Association concluded in the evening of March 1, 2019 in the College auditorium.
The Treasurer of Mangalore University Economics Association, Dr Radhakrishna Shetty, delivered the valedictory address. “Failure teaches a lesson which will be very useful in future endeavors. Consistent effort and hard work plays a vital role in achieving success, he said”
Chairperson of Centre for PG Studies of St Philomena College, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, was the guest of honour. “Economics Fest gives an opportunity to acquire leadership qualities, which will is very essential in life,” said Antony Prakash.
Principal of the college, Prof. Leo Noronha delivered the presidential address. He said ‘Fests enhances competitive spirit. When ideas are shared knowledge grows.’
The Coordinator of the Department of Economics, Dinakara Rao, Secretary of MUEA, Dr Roopa K, President of AMUCT Dr Joseph N M, Convener Mahitha kumari M, Faculties of the Department Sandhya H, Navyashri and Student President Shabana P were present during the occasion.
Twenty six teams from various colleges affiliated to Mangalore University participated in the Fest. The all-round championship of ‘ECOZENITH 2019’ was bagged by Alva’s College, Moodbidri. The runner-up trophy was secured by SDM College Ujire. Alva’s College Moodbidri secured the first place and St Agnes College, Mangalore, second in painting competition. In Elocution, SDM College Ujire secured the first place and Alva’s College Moodbidri secured second. In Model presentation, NMC Sullia, secured the first place and Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar secured second. In quiz competition, Alva’s College Moodbidri secured the first place and St Agnes College Mangalore secured second. In Product Launch, SDM College, Ujire secured the first place and Alva’s College Moodbidri second. In theme dance competition, Alva’s College, Moodbidri secured the first place and GFGC Jidekallu, Puttur secured second.
