Mangaluru: In this season of IT Fests organized by various Institutions, the Department of Computer Applications at St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor, Mangaluru has excelled by winning the Overall Championship Awards at SEMAPHORE-17: National Level IT Fest organized by NMAMIT-Nitte on 27-28 Feb 2017, and MEDHA -17: National Level Technical Fest organized by Shree Devi Institute of Technology – Kenjar on 22-23 Feb 2017.

These fests involve events such as IT Manager, Web Designing, IT Quiz, App Development, and Video Editing that tests the technical knowledge, IT skills and aptitude of the participants.

In SEMAPHORE-17, 17 teams participated in the fest which comprised of 11 events namely: Coding, IT Debate, Tangled, Web Designing, Image & Video Editing, IT Manager, Treasure Hunt, Gaming, App Development, IT Quiz and Ice Breaker.A team consisting of 13 students (VI, IV & II Semester) from the Department of Computer Applications of SJEC participated. The following prizes were secured by the team:

In MEDHA-17, 24 teams participated in the fest which comprised of 8 events namely: Coding, IT Quiz, Web Designing, Gaming, App Development, Google IT, IT Manager and Culturals.A team consisting of 10 students (VI, IV & II Semester) from the Department of Computer Applications of SJEC participated. The following prizes were secured by the team:

The Computer Applications Department of SJEC has been consistently winning these fests since past many years and has brought laurels to the institution.
