Mangaluru: SJEC successfully organized its first workshop of the “Life skills workshop series – 2023” titled “Basic Auto Mechanic Skill” on 21 July 2023 at SJEC AICTE IDEA Lab from 3 to 5 p.m. The program started with a brief inauguration in the presence of Rev. Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta, Assistant Director, SJEC and Dr Purushothama Chippar, Vice-Principal and Dean R&D.
Purushothama K, Proprietor, Durga Padma Auto Works, Kudupu, and his staff provided demonstrations and training for students on a variety of vehicle maintenance issues, including tyre puncture and repair, tyre replacement, oil balance checking and re-filling, wiper replacement and battery checking. 30 students took part in the workshop. Registered students were given the opportunity to participate in a hands-on session for these activities with the assistance of experts in the field.
At the end of the session, participants shared their experiences and gave valuable feedback regarding the workshop and appreciated the efforts put in by the institution in coming up with this useful life skills initiative for the students at SJEC. The domain experts were felicitated with mementoes as a token of gratitude for sharing their knowledge with the students. The workshop witnessed the active participation of a few teaching staff and technical staff of the SJEC AICTE IDEA lab.
