Mangaluru: Students of St Aloysius PU College put up a streetplay titled “Parisara Jagrathi” on November 28.

Street plays are a wonderful platform to connect with the people and that is what inspired the students of St Aloysius PU College to perform a street play. The students chose the two busiest places of Mangaluru: Kankanady and State Bank bus stops, which are always filled with the hustle and bustle of life. Amidst the honking of buses, hurried pedestrians, and frugal vendors, the gallant students conveyed an important message to the people of Mangaluru on the topic “Parisara Jagrathi”.

They performed scenes that depicted the general attitude of the public towards cleanliness and how plastic can cause damage to the environment. The students then addressed the public and persuaded them to be responsible for protecting the environment.

They also educated the public on the alternatives of plastic, segregation of waste, proper disposal of waste, and so on. This unique exposure enlightened students on self-reliance and teamwork. This also helped in grooming the students as socially responsible citizens and when they become adults, they will be able to connect with the people easily. The public witnessed the play with a lot of curiosity and excitement.
